Dhanteras is the first day of  Diwali, dhanteras usually falls eighteen days after “Dussehra“. On occasion of Dhanteras people worship Goddess Lakshmi to provide prosperity and well being.

Dhanteras is a most important day for the business community. That day people purchase gold and silver jewellery, coins and utensils.  People believe that new “Dhan” or some form of precious metal is a sign of good luck.
